Wujiang Road is the well-known characteristic street centred on characteristic catering and leisure in Shanghai. It used to be a snack street that naturally formed around Shanghai old alley, Shanghai civilian-style, a place where the grass-roots food congregated.
Revisiting Wujiang Road really let me brighten. In front of us is a fresh start Wujiang Road leisure street. The previous sidewalk food stalls are completely invisible, instead of this, China’s local dishes dining hall, European style coffee shop and taproom, Taiwan-style teahouse, H. K-Macau restaurant and dessert shop, and so on are appearing all over the place.
I last saw Wujiang Road snack street nearly two years ago.
Wujiang Road has been completely refurbished after a comprehensive renovation, the color floor tile pavement takes the place of the previous asphalted road.
The former food stalls moved into the viewing platform.
The new leisure street will focus on introducing the high-end delicacies and brand fashion shops, including the top world-renowned brands, such as NIKE,LEVI’S and so on. Wujiang Road leisure street is growing more diverse.
Most of shops along the street have walls inlaid with transparent floor glass, the in-store scene can be seen from the street.
The restaurant is mainly based on Chinese food, and it has aimed to Western-style food.
Coffeehouses, western restaurants, bakeries, and Chinese restaurants are mixed together.
